About SandStorm
SandStorm is a 2D shooter where the whole world is a falling-sand simulation: sand, stone, water, oil, lava, ice, acid, timber and gold all fall, flow, burn and react. You hold a stretch of a wide map against enemy waves that parachute in, land from drop ships or are already dug in, while sandstorms, floods, earthquakes, meteors and volcanoes reshape the ground. Between waves you mine gold for new weapons, and each level-up offers three stacking upgrade cards, so no two runs play the same.
SandStorm in the browser
SandStorm is made by Fosthall Studio and runs on its own site, with no download, no account and no install. It is free and ad-supported, with an optional tip jar. The single-player version loads instantly; for multiplayer, open a room on antics.gg and share the link, and friends on phone, tablet or desktop join the same destructible world in co-op, or PvP if you turn on friendly fire. There are four difficulty levels and a stage builder.
How to play SandStorm online
- Use a desktop browser (Chrome or Edge works best).
- Click “Play now”. The game opens in a new tab on the original project's site.
- Wait for the first load; big games can download hundreds of MB.
- Click inside the game to capture the mouse. Press Esc to release it.
⚠ Never download a launcher or .exe from a browser game page.
Tips for SandStorm
- Dig a trench or tunnel before the first wave lands; the ground is your best cover.
- Water puts out fires, but oil spreads them; use both on purpose.
- Mine gold between waves to unlock better weapons.
- Pick upgrade cards that stack well together; every run builds differently.

Can I play SandStorm online for free?
Yes. SandStorm opens in a browser tab on the project's own site, with no download and no sign-up.
Do I need to install SandStorm?
No. Everything runs inside the browser tab. Close the tab and nothing stays on your computer apart from the browser cache.
Does SandStorm work on a phone or Chromebook?
Yes. It is built for both desktop and mobile browsers, including Chromebooks; a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari works best.
Why is SandStorm not loading?
Fan-made browser ports often run on small servers. Wait a minute and refresh, use Chrome or Edge on a desktop, close other heavy tabs, and make sure no extension is blocking the page.
Is SandStorm free?
Yes. It is free and ad-supported, with no account or download.
How do I play with friends?
Open a multiplayer room from the site, share the link, and anyone who opens it joins your world. It is co-op by default; turn on friendly fire in Settings for PvP.
