About Salty Seas
Salty Seas is a browser pirate game set on one huge, persistent ocean inspired by the Caribbean of about 1700 to 1830, when the Royal Navy, France, Spain, privateers and pirates fought over the same waters. Hundreds of players share the map: sail a warship alone or split the helm and guns with a crew, hit enemy hulls with solid shot from range, load grapeshot as they close, then board and fight on deck with flintlocks, pistols, hand cannons and the sabre.
Salty Seas in the browser
Salty Seas is made by the independent developer Yp3d, the studio behind Redcoats.io. Type a nickname, choose where to spawn and you are on the water in seconds; registering is optional and only adds things like clans and saved awards. It is free with no purchase needed, built with WebGL2 and runs best in Chrome, Edge or Brave on a desktop.

Tips for Salty Seas
- Use solid shot at range to hole the enemy hull, then switch to grapeshot as you close in.
- A crew wins fights: one steers while the others man the guns.
- Watch the horizon; every sail is another real player.
- Board a damaged ship instead of sinking it to finish the fight on deck.
