About Pac-Man
PAC-MAN is Namco's 1980 arcade classic designed by Toru Iwatani. You guide Pac-Man around a maze, eat every dot and avoid the four ghosts, Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, who each chase you in their own way. Eating one of the big power pellets turns the ghosts blue for a few seconds so you can hunt them for bonus points, and fruit appears for extra score. It is one of the best-known video games ever made.
Pac-Man in the browser
On 21 May 2010 Google marked the game's 30th anniversary with its first playable doodle: a full PAC-MAN game whose maze spells out the Google logo, made with Namco's permission. The page is still online at google.com. It is free, has no ads or sign-up and loads in about a second. Click Insert Coin a second time to add a second player as Ms. Pac-Man.
How to play Pac-Man online
- Use a desktop browser (Chrome or Edge works best).
- Click “Play now”. The game opens in a new tab on the original project's site.
- Wait for the first load; big games can download hundreds of MB.
- Click inside the game to capture the mouse. Press Esc to release it.
⚠ Never download a launcher or .exe from a browser game page.
Tips for Pac-Man
- Press the next direction just before a corner; Pac-Man turns faster than the ghosts.
- Save the power pellets until several ghosts are close, then eat them in a row for bigger points.
- Use the side tunnels to escape: ghosts slow down inside them.
- Click Insert Coin twice and play with a friend as Ms. Pac-Man.

Can I play Pac-Man online for free?
Yes. PAC-MAN (Google Doodle) opens in a browser tab on the project's own site, with no download and no sign-up.
Do I need to install Pac-Man?
No. Everything runs inside the browser tab. Close the tab and nothing stays on your computer apart from the browser cache.
Does Pac-Man work on a phone or Chromebook?
It is built for desktop browsers. Chromebooks with an up-to-date Chrome usually work if they have enough memory; phones are not officially supported.
Why is Pac-Man not loading?
Fan-made browser ports often run on small servers. Wait a minute and refresh, use Chrome or Edge on a desktop, close other heavy tabs, and make sure no extension is blocking the page.
Is this an official PAC-MAN game?
Yes. Google made the doodle with Namco's permission and still hosts it on google.com. Radiant Optimizer Games is an independent directory and is not affiliated with Google or Bandai Namco.
How do I play two-player PAC-MAN?
Click Insert Coin twice. Player 1 controls Pac-Man with the arrow keys and player 2 controls Ms. Pac-Man with W A S D.
