About C&C
Command & Conquer (1995) by Westwood Studios defined the real-time strategy genre. GDI and the Brotherhood of Nod fight over Tiberium, a mysterious crystal spreading across the world, through missions linked by live-action video briefings. In 2007 EA made the original game freeware, and in 2020 it released a remastered edition.
C&C in the browser
dos.zone runs the original DOS version through a browser emulator. The first load downloads about 675 MB, so give it time; after that it starts like the original, menus and briefings included. dos.zone is free and ad-free.
How to play C&C online
- Use a desktop browser (Chrome or Edge works best).
- Click “Play now”. The game opens in a new tab on the original project's site.

⚠ Never download a launcher or .exe from a browser game page.
Tips for C&C
- Build a Tiberium refinery early and protect your harvesters: they are your only income.
- Keep enough power plants running; low power slows down production and defences.
- Select a group of units, press Ctrl and a number to save it, then the number to recall it.
C&C: questions and answers
Can I play C&C online for free?
Yes, it is free to open in your browser. It may need a large download, and the server can be slow when it is busy.
Do I need to install C&C?
No. Everything runs inside the browser tab. Close the tab and nothing stays on your computer apart from the browser cache.
Does C&C work on a phone or Chromebook?
It is built for desktop browsers. Chromebooks with an up-to-date Chrome usually work if they have enough memory; phones are not officially supported.
Why is C&C not loading?
Fan-made browser ports often run on small servers. Wait a minute and refresh, use Chrome or Edge on a desktop, close other heavy tabs, and make sure no extension is blocking the page.
Is this the official C&C?
No. This page links to an independent web project. Neither Radiant Optimizer Games nor the project is affiliated with Westwood Studios.
